UK Photo Driving Licenses

Roger has very kindly passed this information for our attention and information. Many thanks, Roger

Photo UK driving license.
People who obtained photo licenses about 10 years ago are discovering the hard way that their licence is invalid. It is thought that there are many thousands unaware that the photo has to be renewed after 10 years and some are running into trouble with the law.
The problem seems to occur because the license states the date up to which you are qualified to drive but in the small print it says that the photo must be renewed after 10 years. Although DVLA say that they write to holders 2 months before expiry, this does not seem to be the case for many. The fee is £17.50
Regards
Roger
